Race modes

Some of the game modes in Asphalt 8: Airborne are Classic, Elimination, Knockdown, Drift.

Classic: This is the simplest racing mode in the game. In this mode, players will participate in 2 to 3 rounds depending on each route, each round consists of 6 – 8 racers. And the ranking will be decided based on the order of finishing.

Elimination: This is a very competitive mode. Specifically, players will start the race normally like Classic mode. However, at a certain time, a countdown timer will appear to eliminate the riders with the worst ranking. For example, if the timer counts down to 6 seconds and you’re in 8th place, then if you don’t get to 7th place in 6 seconds your supercar will overturn and you’re out. The race continues like that until the final winner is found.

Knockdown: Your goal is not to finish the fastest anymore. You need to show your driving skills professionally to be able to knock down your opponents. The more opponents you defeat, the more points you score, the higher your chances of winning.

Infected: In this racing mode, after 10 seconds from the start of the race, the car in the lowest position in the race will be poisoned and they only have 30 seconds to survive on the track and then explode. However, they still have the advantage that during the time of intoxication, nitro will be allowed to use unlimitedly. Racers must take advantage of that to infect their opponents by crashing into other players’ cars. For each successful infection, you will extend the duration of the infection by 10 seconds. And it will be 5 seconds for knockdown and 1 second for each nitro pot collected on the way. After the poison period, your will explode and be revived to its normal state. The race continues like that until everyone reaches the finish line. The winner is the person who crosses the finish line first.

Drift: This mode requires ingenuity in controlling the car through the gates with your superior drifting skills. When you pass each gate you will get the corresponding score. If you complete the race with the required number of points, you will win.

Multiplayer mode

Multiplayer mode allows you to connect with players all over the world with a simple requirement that you have a stable Internet connection. In addition, you can also create a playroom and race with friends through this game mode.

More specifically, when joining the lobby, you are matched with 7 random players on the same server and you get to choose the game mode, location and number of laps for this race. Multiplayer mode currently only supports three modes: Classic, Elimination and Infected.
